ON ROUTE

On Route is a collection of photographs taken while delivering mail for the United States Post Office over a period of two years.  Twenty-six of these images were selected for the Exhibition of dark room prints shown at the Finch Lane Gallery in Salt Lake City, while a few from the larger collection of over a thousand images are also included.

The photos in this collection share the single characteristic that they were taken while delivering mail or commuting to work, but beyond that do not have obvious connections to each other or the viewer.  Connections are to be made by the viewer, the idea being that each viewing leaves one with new questions, and maybe new insights.  By leaving a lot of interpretation to the viewer, On Route avoids documentation and does not present a narrative.

A collection of color photographs from the same period are currently being developed and curated for use in the final conclusive representation of On Route: two books (one in black and white, the other in color) of the definitive images from the project.
